A middleweight pairing between Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi is headed to Jaraguá do Sol, Brazil. The middleweight bout will headline the February 8 card that will air on FOX Sports 2. The bout was first announced by Brazilian site Globo before the UFC quickly confirmed the pairing.
While the bout was not the one Machida was aiming for, it is certainly a pairing that is easy to get excited for. Machida will headlining the card after making a successful middleweight debut against Mark Muñoz at UFC Fight Night 30. Mousasi will be making his return to the middleweight division after more than five years away from the division.
The bout will likely take place at the Arena Jaraguá, which played host to UFC on FX 8 earlier this year. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
