Fitch Ratings has affirmed the rating on the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (NJHESAA) student loan revenue bonds issued under the 2010-2 master trust indenture. The Rating Outlook is Stable. Fitch's Global Structured Finance Rating Criteria and Private Student Loan Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) Criteria were used to review the transaction. The rating actions are detailed at the end of this press release.
Fitch affirms the ratings on the bonds based on loss coverage multiples which are sufficient to support an 'Asf' rating on the bonds which was calculated using collateral performance data as of Dec. 31, 2011. A Stable Outlook has been maintained based upon Fitch's review of the credit enhancement and cash flows run less than one year ago in July 2011.
A loss coverage multiple was determined by comparing a projected net loss amount to available credit enhancement. Fitch used historical vintage loss data provided by NJHESAA to form a loss timing curve representative of the 2010-2 trust's collateral pool. After giving credit for seasoning of loans in repayment, Fitch applied the trust's current cumulative gross loss level to this loss timing curve to derive the expected gross losses over the projected remaining life. A recovery rate was applied, which was determined to be appropriate based on the latest data provided by the issuer.
Credit enhancement consists of excess spread and overcollateralization. Fitch assumed excess spread to be the lesser of the average historical excess spread (earnings on the assets minus interest payments to bondholders and fees) and the most recent 12-month average excess spread, and applied that same rate over the stressed projection of remaining life.
The collateral supporting NJHESAA's 2010-2 trust's notes consists entirely of private student loans originated and serviced by NJHESAA, which is not rated by Fitch. The private student loans are intended to assist individuals in financing their undergraduate or graduate education beyond what the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) affords. The private student loan collateral as well as the student loan revenue bonds have a fixed interest rate, so there is no basis risk in this transaction.

I rarely see social media as a sales tool. I see it as an amplification tool to help spread stories that were likely going to spread anyhow, but few sales will come directly from it. There is the occasional news story about some business that did well with it, but that is often just an exception that proves the rule. Social media is more about awareness than sales. Of course awareness is a step in the sales process, but it is just one step of many.
Sales are often cannibalistic toward brand premiums, because people can come to expect them.
One of the best ways to do social media is to offer some ?research? about that social media channel?people love to talk about themselves. 
That might not drive sales?but it will at least gain some awareness.
Pick your spots and start by doing one thing well. For many B2B companies, blogs are the killer app because of their long-tail search performance. Or perhaps a vigorous LinkedIn campaign is the ticket to create awareness of your expertise in specific markets. Whatever you do, don?t try to boil the ocean. Master one tool before moving on to others. Don?t spread yourself too thin.
It?s impossible to generically state that there?s one best strategy for using social media as a B2B sales tool. It all clearly depends on your audience and how they prefer to communicate with you. YouTube might be great for some businesses who need to demonstrate their product in use and for others a LinkedIn presence might be more logical to establish credibility. I caution businesses in taking a one-size-fits-all strategy since identifying your customers? needs, interests and how they access value from you must be the cornerstone of developing your entire marketing strategy ? whether that?s social media or more traditional outreach and communication methods.
To have a strategy! I caution your community not to jump into any social media initiative until they understand:
1. Why they are using the tool (goals).
2. Who they want to engage with (audience)
3. What they?ll talk about (content direction) and
4. The identifying the extent of resources they can dedicate (time, people, technology, dollars).
I?m not sure I can offer a ?strategy,? but it?s always important to go where your audience is and get to know the people behind those businesses. This is about making personal connections with each business.

An international team of scientists, including some from Majorca and the Canary Islands, have described a new type of fossil scops owl, the first extinct bird on the archipelago of Madeira (Portugal). Otus mauli, which was also the first nocturnal bird of prey described in the area, lived on land and became extinct as a result of humans arriving on the island.
Twenty years ago, the German researcher Harald Pieper discovered fossil remains of a small nocturnal bird of prey in Madeira, which, until now, had not been studied in depth. The international team of palaeontologists has shown that the remains belong to a previously unknown extinct species of scops owl, which they have called Otus mauli.
"It has long legs and wings slightly shorter than the continental European scops owl from which it derives" Josep Antoni Alcover, one of the authors of the study and researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), a mixed centre of the university of the Balearic Islands and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
The result of the analysis of the proportions of the remains found, which has been published in the journal Zootaxa, reveals that Otus mauli could be a land inhabiting species that ate invertebrates and "occasionally lizards or birds".
"It is likely that their extinction is linked to the arrival of humans and the fauna they brought with them", Alcover explains. He also points out that their disappearance formed part of a pattern of extinction of the island's species, which occurred in virtually all the islands of the world.
According to researchers, amongst the causes of extinction of this scops owl, the destruction of its habitat is highlighted, as Madeira had a lot of serious fires during the seven years that followed the Portuguese arrival. Furthermore, humans brought new birds with diseases that were unfamiliar to the native species, as well as rats and mice that could prey on eggs of animals that had nests close to the ground.
Exclusive to Madeira?
The same or a similar species has been investigated in Porto Santo, another island of the archipelago of Madeira. "This is extremely interesting" the researcher says, "but difficult to assess because the materials found are limited and fragmented".
"If the scops owls of Madeira and Porto Santo were different species, it would mean that the Otus' flying ability is much more limited than continental scops owls. The distance between the two islands would be enough to isolate them" Alcover points out.
The homogeneity of the scops owls' measurements on the two islands, as well as the differences compared to European scops owls suggests that they were genetically isolated from the European populations. The distance between the continent and the island was enough to explain the difference in the species.
On this island they expect to discover new species of birds in the near future "which will report a world that disappeared just a few hundred years ago". "The same thing will happen in the Azores islands where there is already evidence that a scops owl different to the ones in Madeira and Europe that is also extinct" the scientist says.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Nine suspected gang members and associates were charged Friday with taking part?in a sexual attack on a 14-year-old girl who was forced back inside an abandoned St. Paul house and raped after trying to leave a party, authorities said.
The girl and her friend were picked up at school by one of the men and lured to a party with suspected members of the TB22, or True Blood 22, street gang, prosecutors said.
"This crime was every parent's nightmare," Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said in a statement. "Crimes like these shock the conscience of our community."
According to a criminal complaint, the girl wanted to leave the Nov. 17 party at the abandoned St. Paul house but was pulled from a car and carried back inside.
"The victim reported grabbing whatever she could, including door frames, to stop them from bringing her into the bedroom," the complaint said. The girl told a nurse that once she was forced onto a mattress on the floor inside the bedroom, a group of men held her down while she struggled and yelled for help.
One of the defendants told police at least two men raped the girl, according to the complaint.
Citing complaints and petitions filed in Ramsey County District Court, the St. Paul Star Tribune?reported the alleged victim heard one?suspect say, "Are you in? I call second."
The girl told the nurse that when she asked the man who brought her to the party, 24-year-old Mang Yang, to help, he said he had to go, according to the complaint. The assault stopped when one of the men yelled "police" and everyone ran, the complaint said.
'Get them drunk'
According to the complaint, Yang told police he knew the others planned to rape the girl and that "is the gang's intent every time they get girls to a party with them to get them drunk and rape them."
One of the teens told police that Yang told him to hold the girl down. But the complaint said Yang told police he went looking for the girl after she was carried from his car and that he heard her screaming and saw teens run out of a room.
Yang said he asked her if anything happened but she was crying and didn't answer, according to the complaint.
Yang is charged along with four other men, ages 18 to 37. Four male minors, ages 15 to 17, also are charged. They each face four counts: aiding and abetting first-degree sexual conduct, conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual conduct, kidnapping someone under age 16, and committing a crime for the benefit of a gang.
All nine defendants are suspected gang members or associates.
Yang and three of the other adults charged made their initial court appearances Friday and were appointed public defenders.
"This is a very serious case involving many co-defendants and we look forward to providing the best defense possible in each case to reach a fair resolution," said Kelley Malone-O'Neill, managing attorney at the Ramsey County Public Defender's office.
Speaking to the Star Tribune, police spokesman?Todd Axtell added: "We are looking for other potential victims to come forward."

Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine*).
The articles from the JID supplement will be presented, along with local tuberculosis research performed at UCL and the Royal Free Hospital, at a World TB Day Conference 'Tuberculosis: Local and Global'. The event will be hosted by UCL at the Royal Free Hospital in London on Friday March 23rd.
Worldwide, tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the most important causes of death from an infectious disease. TB and TB/HIV co-disease caused an estimated 1.4 million deaths in 2010 and there were 8.8 million incident cases of TB, with the highest rates occurring in sub-Saharan Africa and the largest number of cases in Asia. Sub-Saharan Africa continues to be disproportionately affected by the dual epidemics of TB and HIV. Moreover, the number-one cause of death for HIV-infected patients in sub-Saharan Africa is TB.
While recent TB control efforts have been substantial and progress in the development of new diagnostics, drugs and vaccines has accelerated, the implementation of coordinated TB/HIV treatment and prevention activities remains challenging. Despite nearly 20 years of World Health Organisation (WHO)-directed and coordinated activity, and 12 years of multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosisspecific activity, "the response to the drug-resistant tuberculosis epidemic seems to be ineffectual, with projected rapid increase in the global incidence of Multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB)," said Professor Zumla. "It (MDR TB) continues to spread and now poses a major threat to TB control - recent reports of highly drug resistant TB from Iran and Bombay are worrisome," he continued.
According to the supplement's accompanying editorial, the main obstacle hindering progress toward achieving TB control seems to be the lack of creative and lateral thinking with unity of purpose. Historically, some widely held assumptions, dogma, and orthodoxy have prevailed, leading to polarization of thought, varying opinions, and continued debate within the scientific, medical, funding, and various other stakeholder communities. The need for open debate and fostering of innovation is reflected by the needs surrounding all aspects of tuberculosis and HIV control strategies.
This need has never been greater, especially in the current adverse global economic climate.
The JID supplement arises from the urgent need to focus attention on core problems and secure a broad spectrum of opinion from TB and HIV/AIDS experts from various geographical backgrounds. It comprises 23 articles written by 164 authors from all over the world.
This special volume critically highlights current controversies and unanswered questions in TB and TB/HIV issues affecting adults and children, and provides insights into newer and enhanced approaches to achieving the Millennium Development Goals for TB control. Specifically, the volume covers operational issues, challenges, and priority needs relating to a broad range of diagnostic, management, prevention, surveillance and related research issues. The array of priorities spans development, evaluation, and implementation of new drugs, diagnostics, and vaccines.
"Political commitment, regulatory cohesiveness, donor investments, and increased coordination among all stakeholders is necessary to make progress," says Professor Ali Zumla. "This includes upgrading of laboratory services for early and accurate diagnosis, development and validation of better diagnostic testing algorithms, effective treatment at points of care, and improved surveillance.
"This supplement also underlines preventable factors, such as crowded living conditions and under-nutrition that continue to make communities vulnerable to disease," continues Professor Zumla. "The influence of non-communicable diseases, such as smoking-related lung disease, diet-related diabetes mellitus, malnutrition, as well as alcohol and drug abuse, highlight the need for a multi-disciplinary approach in tackling both TB and HIV."
Despite increased funding for TB, several articles point to a serious shortfall which continues to persist. The financial difficulties faced by the Global Fund place recent gains in TB control and the numbers of HIV-infected persons on life-saving treatment at serious risk in many donor-reliant countries. The global fight against TB and HIV requires perseverance, assertiveness, and innovation, and clarity of intent well beyond current efforts. All authors in the supplement call on governmental, civil society, non-governmental groups, donors, and funders to work collectively to assist in global control of TB and, ultimately, its elimination.

So, what does support for nurses look like? Let's do some brainstorming here.
Mandatory overtime: This is an issue that is permanently lodged in the craw of so many nurses. Mandatory overtime is killing morale, damaging the relationship between administration and nurses on the floor, and otherwise wreaking havoc in nurses' lives. (If you have a childcare provider waiting for you to come home from a shift so that she can go home and take care of her own family, your surprise mandatory overtime not only impacts you, it also ripples out into your community as well, perhaps radically impacting her life and the life and work of her spouse or family.) This practice is maligned by many nurses and is the bane of many administrators. It can lead to burnout, medication errors, and poor patient outcomes. Something must be done.
Horizontal violence: For those unfamiliar with this term, for nurses it translates roughly into "nurses bullying nurses". Horizontal violence is verbal, emotional or even physical violence between relative peers. Nurses are renowned for "eating their young", backbiting, and otherwise making one another's lives miserable. Since bullying and "vertical violence" can often come from those in positions of greater authority, some nurses internalize their resentment of this type of treatment from their superiors and then themselves become perpetrators, often against their nursing brothers and sisters. One might also call this "internalized oppression" that is subsequently turned against peers.
Self care: While some nurses are health conscious, many nurses struggle with poor physical fitness, stress-related illnesses, obesity, and a variety of other symptoms directly or indirectly related to their work as nurses. While a gift certificate for a free soda and fries at the hospital cafeteria may be appreciated on Nurses Day, a true employee wellness and stress management program would do a great deal more to combat stress, improve morale, and otherwise make nurses healthier, happier and more balanced.
