How Family Bonding Can Affect Writing & Speaking Skills Of Pupils ...

What goes on in the school rooms of Singapore educational institutions on the subject of learning English being a second language is the conventional classroom sit down activity. The school teacher controls most of what transpires and pupils are expected to listen and learn. With this approach, students are drowned with exercises, exercises, drills. The aim is to repeatedly supply the mind of the pupils with the correct pronunciation of a word, phrase or sentence. They are surely expected to catch the phonics in their minds and reiterate them. This methodology can be successful, but a necessary element is missed.

We understand in psychology that play is very important for the well being of infants as well as toddlers. The term ?play? here refers to the successful affective interaction involving an infant or tot and another important person or groups of people, typically the mother or both mom and dad. The play activity occurs in a pleasant atmosphere that actually builds emotional bonding between family members. This is absolutely essential for a child?s constant emotional development resulting to greater initiative for character improvement and motivation, especially later on in their adult lives!

When a child feels protected because he or she is loved as well as accepted by both parents, he or she responds willingly and eagerly to parental wisdom. Since the strong affective bond makes the child at ease, he or she is in a ready state to be taught. Personal growth and improvement is facilitated. Hence, the same is true within the selection of an English instructor. The teacher should first emotionally connect to the student. Then, the student is keen and eager to study.

Due to the difficulty of maths tuition, home teaching is a necessity for a lot of Singaporean families. Establishing the relaxed atmosphere mentioned above is the answer to making pupils prepared to learn.

In learning English, writing and speaking properly and effectively are part of the learning objectives. Mere lots and lots of activities is not going to bring the desired improvements. The ?relaxed rapport? mentioned above must be built first.
